Cellulose insulation can be installed in walls, attics, and even crawlspaces. In new home construction, we spray the cellulose into wall cavities and then "scrub" to remove any excess. The excess is then vacuumed back to a hopper in the truck and re-used, creating virtually no waste.
In attics, we spray Cellulose over any existing insulation. Because of its density, Cellulose can actually enhance the existing insulation by reducing convective air currents that travel through fiberglass and similiar insulation materials. When convective air currents are reduced, less heat escapes through your attic, creating a more comfortable and efficient home.
In crawl spaces, we install Cellulose through the use of a fabric netting under each bay. The netting is stapled to the underfloor framing, creating an enclosed cavity directly under your subfloor. A small cut is then made in the netting and the entire cavity is filled with Cellulose.
